Author's address / E-Mail / phone
All the plant images on this website are subject to the copyright of the author (by default © Robert Flogaus-Faust). Robert Flogaus-Faust is the person responsible for this website according to German laws (click onto the name for details!) The images from this website must not be used in other websites, books, newspapers, magazines or other publications without previous consent by the author. The only exception to this is a limited permission to use some of my flower images (*.jpg) in a forum or a news page in the internet (see below for the details!). If you wish the author's consent for using images from this website then please send a mail to me, Robert Flogaus-Faust.
Students may use some of my images even without my previous consent if they use them only for their own works that are made as part of their education at school or university (e.g. for homework, seminar papers, school projects, works of art) provided that these works are not published on the internet and that they give credit by clear citation of the source of each image that they use (e. g. "image © Robert Flogaus-Faust" or "image http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/"). Teachers and professors may also use some of my images without my previous consent for their lessons and their lectures if they give me due credit (in the same way as it is mentioned above for the students) and if neither my images nor the educational material made using my images are published on the internet or sold.
Links to HTML pages (i. e. to the files with names ending with ".htm", e. g. http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/flores.htm) are very desirable and you'll need no special permission by the author for this, of course. You must not show any of the pages from this website in frames from your website, except for the homepages (http://www.flogaus-faust.de/index.htm and http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/index.htm).
The following major possibilities for using my images in your publications must be treated differently:
- in news pages and discussion groups on the web
- on a website (excluding file formats with which these conditions cannot be fulfilled)
- in print, on CD-ROM or as PDF files
- on TV
Use of flower images in news pages and discussion groups on the web
The conditions for this kind of publication are essentially the same as for a publication on a website. You must not link directly to any of my image files (alle files with names ending with ".jpg" or ".gif") directly from my website (including direct links to an image file or hotlinks that display an image directly on a web page). So if you haven't got any webspace then get some first and copy my flower image to your webspace. When you use the image in a discussion group then please retrieve it from your own webspace (not from my website!)
The following modification to my conditions for web publication is applicable to news pages and discussion groups:
- If your discussion group does not allow hyperlinks to HTML pages then you may replace the usually required link to one of my HTML pages by the following text:
image (c) Robert Flogaus-Faust (http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/)
- If your publication fulfills all my conditions for web publication (if applicable with the exception mentioned above) then I hereby grant you my permission to publish of up to 5 of my flower images in discussion groups or on web newspages without previous request by mail. If you wish to use more than 5 of my images at the same time or if you are not sure whether you understand all of my conditions then please send me a mail.
Publication on a Website (private or commercial, excluding PDF files and similar file formats)
- The images used must be copied to your webspace. Do not link directly or hotlink to images (*.jpg or *.gif)!
- The flower images should be links to one of my HTML pages. Even though his condition is not compulsory, a link to one of my HTML pages is required near the image if this condition is not fulfilled.
Reference must be made to the author's copyright in the alternative text (ALT tag) or the source must be mentioned near the image leading to one of my HTML pages as a text link. If the flower image is not a link then this text link is compulsory. If you use one of the images from my European wildflower website (which is in German) then you might wish to link to http://www.flogaus-faust.de/eng/index.htm rather than to one of the German web pages. There are three acceptable methods to fulfill the conditions above. An example for the first method is given below:
<p><a href="http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/index.htm" target="_top"><img src="photo/brodcoro.jpg" width="262" height="270" border="0" alt="Brodiaea coronaria, © Robert Flogaus-Faust"></a></p>
This should look like this:

This is an example for the second method:
<p><a href="http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/liliceae.htm" target="_top"><img src="photo/brodcoro.jpg" width="262" height="270" border="0" alt="Brodiaea coronaria"></a><br><small>image: <a href="http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/index.htm">© Robert Flogaus-Faust</a></small></p>

image: © Robert Flogaus-Faust
You may combine both methods, of course :-)
This is also acceptable (even though it is less desirable):
<p><img src="photo/brodcoro.jpg" width="262" height="270" border="0" alt="Brodiaea coronaria, © Robert Flogaus-Faust"><br><small>image: <a href="http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/index.htm">Robert Flogaus-Faust</a></small></p>

image: Robert Flogaus-Faust
Agreements different from this may be made in exceptional cases if the rules above are incompatible with the design of webpages.
Important: An image must not be linked directly from my website, i.e. e.g. from http://www.flogaus-faust.de/bc/photo/brodcoro.jpg! Please copy the image to your website and retrieve it from there!
Use in Scientific or Educational Printed Matters and in Conservation (or on CD-ROM or in PDF files)
Using the images for this kind of publication (e. g. for school or for a thesis) will be approved in most cases. The source of the images must be clearly cited in the publication. Requests from commercial publishers will most likely be rejected, however.
Publication in Commercial Printed Matters (books, newspapers, ads etc.), in similar publications (CD-ROM, PDF etc.) and on TV
Use in commercial printed matters will not be approved at the moment. Please avoid asking for approval because your request will be denied. The same is true for broadcasting images on television.
Use in printed matters of non-profit organizations (including similar publications such as CD-ROM, PDF)
These may be treated just like science and educational use if the author agrees with the intended use.
